Here at Southern Sands Alpacas we run a quality mixed herd of both Suri and Huacaya alpacas.  We have been concentrating on breeding mainly fawn and brown, but are now expanding to breed black, and white with the occasional grey and multi for good measure.

Our main focus is to breed the highest quality stock to enhance the National Herd, but we also strive to breed friendly animals.  All of our animals are generally handled on a daily basis, this creates a peaceful trusting environment where the alpacas can feel secure and are generally more obliging.

Going forward, we aim to build the herd both in number and diversity, to be able to offer premium quality alpacas, both Huacaya and Suri, through our commitment to a breeding programme to breed healthy alpacas varying in colour, at affordable prices to suit all kinds of clients ranging from those who simply enjoy being in the company of these delightful animals, to those who relish the idea of competing with their animals at the best of shows,
